Practical AI for small businesses
You don’t need to become an AI expert. You need to know where it can help your business, how to get useful results and when to question what it gives you.
Work with me on something from your day: a customer email, a newsletter, a set of instructions or the admin you keep putting off.

Start with the work, not the tool
Turn rough notes into a clear reply that sounds like you. Check the facts before it goes anywhere.
Work on a newsletter, website paragraph or social post without starting from a blank page.
Turn a process you know by heart into a checklist someone else can actually follow.
Organise a messy list of tasks or make sense of a non-sensitive document, with the original close to hand.
Complete beginners welcome. We choose one sensible starting point—not a tour of every AI tool on the internet.
Fictional worked example · Not a client result
A landscaping customer asks when you can clear a garden bed. You have the facts; you just need to turn them into an email.
Alex — front bed weeds + mulch. Estimate $240 including mulch. Can offer Thursday morning, weather permitting. Need gate unlocked. Ask them to confirm. Not booked yet.
Turn these notes into a short, friendly customer email. Use only these facts. Keep the price as an estimate and the appointment as an offer, not a confirmed booking.
Hi Alex,
The estimate for weeding and mulching your front garden bed is $240, including mulch.
We can offer Thursday morning, weather permitting. Would that work for you? We’d need the gate unlocked for access.
Please reply to confirm before we book you in. Thanks!
Your checks before sending: Is $240 still the right estimate? Is Thursday actually available? Is the scope correct? Has the customer confirmed? AI drafts the words. You check the facts and decide what gets sent.
Fictional worked example · Not a client result
Every week, someone in a small office turns scattered meeting notes into an update for the team. A reusable instruction can help organise the draft without making up the missing details.
Quote template — Jamie to revise by Friday. Supplier pricing still missing. Website changes approved; Morgan to arrange publication. Next check-in Tuesday.
Turn these notes into a short team update with Actions, Waiting on and Decisions. Include owners and deadlines where stated. Use only these notes. Don’t invent owners or deadlines; mark anything missing as “not specified”. Keep the next check-in separate.
Actions
- Revise the quote template — Jamie. Due: Friday.
- Arrange publication of the website changes — Morgan. Due: not specified.
Waiting on
Supplier pricing. Follow-up owner and deadline: not specified.Decisions
Website changes approved.Next check-in
Tuesday.
Your checks before sharing: Do the actions match what was agreed? Which calendar dates do Friday and Tuesday mean? Who will chase the supplier, and when? Fill the gaps with the team—not with AI guesses.
Next week, use the same instruction with fresh notes. Start with non-sensitive examples; this is a draft for a person to review, not an automatic task assignment or reminder system.
Two ways to start

Who you’ll work with
I’m Lee. I use AI to write, build tools and keep track of work. Wired Differently is where I show what helped, what failed and what I changed along the way.
My approach here is the same: work on a real problem, explain the choices and leave you with something you understand. You stay in charge of your accounts and your decisions.
No polished brief required
Tell me about your business and one thing you’d like to make easier. The first 15 minutes are free so we can check whether I’m the right person to help.
We settle the task, format, time and total cost before you book. Bring a laptop if you want hands-on practice; we’ll discuss what you need beforehand.
We work through the task together. You leave with written guidance, rather than having to remember everything we covered.
We use made-up or carefully anonymised examples where needed. Please don’t send customer records, passwords or confidential documents with your enquiry. Nothing gets sent to customers or published automatically.
No guaranteed revenue or time savings, and no legal, medical or financial advice. The aim is practical confidence and a useful way of working—not handing your business over to a chatbot.
Local or online
I cover Nashville and surrounding areas, including Mt Juliet, Lebanon, Hermitage, Hendersonville and Murfreesboro.
In-person sessions can take place at your business premises or a mutually agreed public venue—not my home. At a public venue, we’ll keep confidential work off the table. We agree the location and any travel charge before booking.
Let’s see if I can help
Tell me what your business does, the task you have in mind and whether you’d prefer online or in person. Include your town if you’d like to meet locally. You don’t need to know which session to choose.
